Meet heroes, activists and role models from the past and learn why Berlin ‘invented’ homosexuality in the 19th century.

You will hear exciting queer stories, such as the world's first public coming out, the first queer NGO, the first gay and lesbian magazine, the world's first sexology institute and the first gender reassignment surgeries.

We will also commemorate the queer victims of Nazi terror and the HIV/AIDS pandemic. But there will be plenty of fun too, as we dive into the nightlife of the Golden Twenties with Eldorado, Topkeller, Anita Berber and Christopher Isherwood.

All you need to bring is a bicycle, which can be easily booked via an app. The cheapest option in Berlin is currently Callabike ‘Starter’ for €10/day. The tours are free, but a tip at the end of the tour is welcome if you can afford it.

Registration is required to participate in order to plan group sizes and respond to the weather. If you would like to book, please email info(add)homoluluberlin.de with the date, language and number of people. The tour takes place with a minimum of 3 participants.

Dates:

The bike tour is taking a winter break, so there are currently no dates; these will start again in May – more information to follow.
