A knot can be a unsolvable chaos of threads and, at the same time, a creation with a specific function or even magic features. Three images of knots which Bauhaus member Anni Albers drew in 1947 show both: chaos and artistic interweaving. Can we understand this language of threads? Based on different knot images and manuals we explore how they are tied and how we can transfer the knots in our head to our hand and on the paper.

The workshop is led by our mediators Julia Marquardt and Cornelia Durka.
