The BAROCKTAGE of the Berlin State Opera are an annual highlight in Berlin's classical music program. From December 17 to 26 November 2023, they will present two opera premieres and top-class BAROCKTAGE concerts.
Music from Italy, sung and played by specialists who individually trace the original sound of the 18th century and revive it for the present, is the focus of the BAROCKTAGE concerts.
The two opera premieres of the BAROCKTAGE 2022 are also Italian in character. Il Giustino", a stage work by Antonio Vivaldi, will be performed at the State Opera for the first time. "Mitridate, Re di Ponto" by the youthful Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart will also be performed here for the first time.
Mozart, Monteverdi and Vivaldi - the works of these masters are the focus of the festival concerts, which also take place in concert halls in the neighborhood (Apollosaal in the Konzerthaus Berlin and Pierre Boulez Saal).
The Advent concert of the Children's Choir of the State Opera is dedicated to the Baroque. "THE FOUR SEASONS" will be performed for children ages 6 to 9 by members of the Akademie für Alte Musik.
