reading with author Kathrin Schülein

The dancer Kathrin Schülein, who was trained and committed to working in the GDR, experienced the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 and the subsequent closure of numerous theaters in her old homeland. A ten-year search for a new meaning in life and a constant failure to arrive during this time lead her back again and again to the point that a life without theater is not one for her.

So the prophet sets off for the mountain and she opens one herself. Without knowing what that means, without any knowledge, she naively jumps into the deep, ice-cold and raging waters of the new world to get her life back.

The view of the social and official immobility will be deeper than you would like. A cheerful and tragic Eastern story like many others, but still a special one.
