JazzNights 2025
Arabic tradition meets jazz - In spring 2025, an extraordinary quartet consisting of Anouar Brahem, Dave Holland, Django Bates and Anja Lechner will be performing in Berlin, Hamburg and Munich.
Nobody plays the oud like Anouar Brahem. The Tunisian musician is considered a modern master of this instrument, which he elevated from the traditional accompanying role as a solo instrument. The oud, a sonorous short-necked lute and ancestor of many Western string instruments such as the guitar, still exudes a hint of "1001 Nights" in its wide sounds.
Together with the renowned bassist Dave Holland, the versatile pianist Django Bates and the experimental cellist Anja Lechner, Brahem invites you to experience his musical dream world at three exclusive jazz nights in Germany.
With a mixture of calm, powerful melodies and subtle elegance, the Anouar Brahem Quartet creates a unique sound bridge between the Orient and the Occident - beyond all clichés and with a mystical touch that seems both familiar and foreign.
Anouar Brahem Quartet:
- Anouhar Brahem Oud
