Jazz in the Elias Cupola Hall
After many years of teaching at universities such as Linz and Passau, Allan Praskin now lives in Berlin and has built up a fantastic quartet that plays very groovy jazz in which the "west coast" style always comes through to some extent.

Allan Praskin Quartett
- Allan Praskin, sax
- Lars Gühlcke, bass

Allan Praskin's musical roots go back to the legendary Lighthouse Cafe in Los Angeles, where he played as a teenager and shared the stage with musicians like Chet Baker, Woody Herman, Bud Shank and Barney Kessel.
During his time in New York, he made the acquaintance of Gunter Hampel and was signed by him for a tour of Germany. He came and stayed. After many years of teaching in colleges like Linz and Passau, Allan Praskin now lives in Berlin and has built up a fantastic quartet with Ulli Bartel (violin), Lars Gühlcke (bass) and Jan Leipnitz (drums), playing very groovy jazz in which the "west coast" style always sounds through.
Saxophonists like Silke Eberhard or Felix Wahnschaffe name Allan Praskin as a role model, Ruth Schepers and Edith Steyer were trained by him.
