DUFTE Berlin

The Culinary Culture Centre in the Kant Garage Palace

Brand new in City West and open from early morning until midnight: DUFTE Berlin has been open on Kantstraße, near Savignyplatz, since May. Four modern gourmet kitchens, two bars, a café and a large beer garden invite you to enjoy culinary surprises and fine drinks. Not a food court, but a large, vibrant venue in Berlin where food culture, community and a stylish, open atmosphere come together.

Berlin at its best: from early morning until midnight

Versatile and vibrant, creative, spacious and open: the new DUFTE Berlin is exactly that. With four independent gourmet kitchens, bars, a café and a shared, stylishly designed dining area spanning around 1,000 square metres, the new venue is perfect for casual get-togethers with friends, for your family, and for your celebrations.

Four kitchens: 4 x variety & 4 x quality

Abuya – Hummus Culture

Here you can enjoy everything Levantine cuisine has to offer: whether hummus, falafel, shakshuka, sabich or shawarma, Navot Shelach has, after some 20 years’ experience in the restaurant trade, transformed the best recipes from his family tradition into genuine taste experiences. "Abuya" means "Dad" in Levantine Arabic and Hebrew – and the name says it all: for Shelach, cooking and family simply go hand in hand.

The Curried Cactus

An exciting culinary concept! Here, India meets Mexico: both culinary traditions share spicy flavours, a love of grilling and a street food culture. Aparna Aurora, founder of Chutnify, lived in both countries for many years and, in her innovative concept, draws on the flavour similarities between the two cuisines. Absolutely brilliant!

Mani in Pasta

For ten years now, Angelo and Gioacchino Celona and Lorenzo Corisi have been delighting visitors to the popular Markthalle Neun with handmade fresh pasta and authentic Italian cuisine. Now you can also treat yourself to the lovingly prepared, incomparably delicious pasta dishes from the open kitchen at DUFTE.

tacho

tacho shows you what young Berlin cuisine is all about! The three Berlin chefs Anselm Schaper, Bruno Jäger and Lennart Kieker are all in their mid-twenties and bring with them top-class experience from Michelin-starred kitchens, pop-up projects in Vienna and Berlin, and organic farms. Modern, creative gourmet cuisine with regional ingredients and high aesthetic standards, whether trout rillettes or refreshing okroshka – a fantastic selection.

Both bars serve from 11.30am. At the Dufte bar , you can choose from nine draught beers from Berlin breweries. Try“Heidi Bier”, a Franconian lager brewed exclusively for DUFTE: the recipe is four centuries old! Or enjoy fine wines, cocktails and spritz variations at the Wine & Spirits Bar. Open until 1 am at weekends.

At Café Dufte, you can start the day wonderfully with coffee made from beans roasted in-house, sandwiches and pretzels from Domberger, granola and other specialities. We’re currently putting the finishing touches to a full breakfast and brunch menu; it’ll be ready after the summer.

DUFTE Berlin – what makes it so special?

  • All kitchens source their ingredients from small, independent producers and suppliers; large corporations and industrial brands have no place in Dufte’s kitchens.
  • The same applies to the entire drinks menu: DUFTE works exclusively with small, independent producers.
  • DUFTE has a distinctive, cool interior design style that complements the historic Berlin Modernist building: Built in 1930, the Kant Garage Palace was the oldest surviving multi-storey car park in Europe; DUFTE has embraced its architectural style and incorporated relics from earlier times, such as original lattice windows, garage doors and doors.
  • 1,000 square metres of interior space, lots of people, music, kitchen noises... might the noise level be unpleasant? No, that’s not a problem: there’s a state-of-the-art sound system with eight separately adjustable audio zones and full acoustic panelling.

DUFTE Berlin is very easy to reach, whether you’ve just visited the Museum of Photography or C/O Berlin , or been shopping in the little shops on nearby Savignyplatz and in the side streets of Charlottenburg. As public transport stops right outside the door, you can also reach DUFTE in just a few minutes from the KaDeWe, Bikini Berlin or the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church. Let’s go!
