Wintermarkt by prideART in a former prison

Christmas market from 27 November to 14 December in Berlin

Built in 1906, the women's prison in Lichterfelde is always happy to host events for the LGBTQ+ community. And in the run-up to Christmas, a colourful marketplace is created in front of the impressive backdrop of the listed prison building with the "Fundstücke" winter market .

Creative art gifts from queer artists

Spread over three floors, you can visit the prison cells that have been converted into studios, talk directly to the artists and, of course, purchase an original on the spot.

The themes and motifs are as diverse as the queer scene itself, ranging from landscape paintings to mixed media, ceramics and illustrations to nude photos. From small souvenirs to large sculptures, there is something for every taste and every budget.

Unconventional & diverse

Whether at the vernissage, the exhibition days on the Advent weekends or the finissage: this creative Christmas event in the former women's prison is more than just an art market. Fundstücke is a statement in favour of diversity and visibility. There is also mulled wine, Christmas treats, a friendly atmosphere and plenty of room for conversation - an unconventional experience for anyone who wants to get into the Christmas spirit away from the mainstream.
