On 4 November 2026, the FriedensBrot association will host its tenth FORUM FriedensBrot at the visitor centre of the Berlin Wall Memorial. Under the title ‘East. West. City. Countryside. What divides us, what unites us – then, now, tomorrow’, the event will focus on the lines of division and connection between East and West, and between city and countryside.

The event will explore how experiences of division and change, differing realities of life and societal perceptions continue to shape the present day – and what unites people in Germany and Europe.
Dr Andreas Möller and Alina Herbing, two authors who have examined rural areas and the relationship between town and country in depth from different perspectives, will be taking part in the discussion.
