Those who know how to play never get bored. ‘Build’ is a performance for young children about the worlds that our curiosity can open up. Two young people – one with sticks, the other with clay – explore the possibilities of play through creating and being together.

They engage with the different sizes and shapes of their materials, coax sounds from them, find a rhythm and discover ways of being together on a journey through music and movement.
“Build” is inspired by the open-ended, improvised games that children invent when left to their own devices. As the title suggests, the performance takes place in a world of “building and rebuilding”, a world full of inventions that is constantly evolving. This wordless performance offers an imaginative perspective on natural materials as play objects.
“Build” uses sticks, clay, rhythm and movement to create a multi-sensory experience that invites young audience members to a celebration of creative exploration. Through play, curiosity and gentle human interaction, the performers transform an empty, silent space into a space full of comfort and imagination.
