Clay is a material with great potential for low-emission and circular construction. Load-bearing clay bricks, prefabrication and automated manufacturing processes, as well as the first new applications in multi-storey residential construction, demonstrate that clay construction has long since become more than just a niche craft. A key step forward for structural clay construction was, amongst other things, the introduction of DIN 18940 for load-bearing clay brickwork. But how can we now make the transition from successful individual projects to widespread construction practice?
These and other questions will be discussed at the Transformation Dialogue on 14 October with four representatives from the housing sector, planning, research and production.
