The Latest from Berlin’s club scene

These clubs are new in the city

The decline of Berlin’s club scene is only half the story. In fact, a whole host of new clubs have opened in recent months, which we’ll briefly introduce here:

++ SchwuZ returns with a series of parties ++ AMT opens in the former casino in the S-Bahn arches at Alexanderplatz ++ C115 launches in the historic AVUS-Tribüne ++ Mikropol has established itself in the carriageway at the Metropol ++ Khisdapaze Frachtkante reopens in April 2026 ++ Ava Club becomes Sensorium ++ Wilde Renate stays ++ AM in Spandau closes ++

The SchwuZ is back

A queer institution is back: following its departure from Rollberg in Neukölln, the legendary SchwuZ is reinventing itself and bringing its spirit – as one of the most important symbols of LGBTQ+ culture – back to the city with a travelling party series. Even though the traditional club at Rollberg had to close, the community is demonstrating true Berlin resilience with this move. A testament to the diversity and collective energy of the queer scene! The glamorous launch of this new era will be celebrated with a night at the legendary Metropol on 16 May 2026 from 11 pm. This marks the return of the Schwuz spirit to where Berlin’s queer heart beats loudest – right on Nollendorfplatz. In the long term, however, the search for a permanent venue continues. We’ll keep you updated.

AMT opens in the S-Bahn arches at Alexanderplatz

Right on Alexanderplatz, in the S-Bahn arches between the Cubix cinema and the Berolinahaus, AMT is set to open in April. So says founder and managing director Robert Havemann, who also runs the Velvet Bar in Neukölln, in an interview with Groove on 19 February 2026. The club is accessed via a late-night shop belonging to AMT at Dircksenstraße 114. From there, a spiral staircase leads down to the basement rooms, which used to house a casino. For the AMT, only two dance floors and a chill-out area have been set up here. There is space for around 1,000 night-owls, who are welcome to stay until the champagne breakfast on Monday during the opening weekend, which kicks off on 10 April with the sex-positive Substation.

Mikropol in the Metropol’s carriage entrance

Since last September, Mikropol at Nollendorfplatz 5 – right next to the Metropol – in Schöneberg has been hosting parties and concerts, as well as reading sessions, discussion groups and more intimate events. Mikropol sees itself as a small, exquisite cultural hub alongside its big sister, the Metropol – and has found a home in the carriage entrance of the legendary theatre with its impressive façade. The programme features many concerts, as well as the occasional reading.

In the somewhat out-of-the-way neighbourhood of Marienfelde, MoMa5 at Motzener Straße 5 is now an exciting creative hub where, among others, the team behind the Wellenfarm label has found a home with their new club, Lost Loft .

C115 in the historic AVUS grandstand

With C115, the club scene on Messedamm has moved into the historic AVUS grandstand near the radio tower, although other event formats also find a home here, such as the visitBerlin Bestival (photo). Dancing takes place in front of a large window front overlooking the A115, in which strobe lights and spotlights are reflected in equal measure. It remains to be seen whether C115 will establish itself in the long term, although its location right next to the motorway – with little potential for noise complaints and excellent existing transport links – should be a huge plus, especially in Berlin! In any case, you should mark the Harmony Rec. X Amniote Editions on 24 May in your diary.

Khisdapaze Frachtkante opens in April

Things are also moving forward at the legendary Frachtkantine on the site of the former Tegel Airport (TXL). Following many fantastic events in 2025, ‘Khisdapaze Berlin’ is planning club nights, raves, art, readings, flea markets and other exciting events again this year. From April, operations will begin on the impressive outdoor grounds with a direct view of the old runway, before the indoor spaces are eventually converted into a community cultural centre. Anyone who wishes to do so is welcome to get involved. The process is being supported by Clubcommission Berlin e.V. in cooperation with Kulturraum Berlin gGmbH and the office of the Berlin Project Fund for Urban Practice at the Foundation for Cultural Education and Cultural Consultancy.

What else?

The Ava Club at Warschauer Platz 18 in Friedrichshain has reinvented itself as Sensorium.

Renate is here to stay: the lease for the legendary club in a former residential building in Alt-Stralau was extended until December 2025. Since 2007, the venue has shaped Berlin’s club culture as a creative hub, and parties will continue to be held here every week from Thursday to Friday.

And in the underground scene, the Krannok Club is making waves with password-protected information.

Only the AM, which only opened in November 2025 at the Alte Meierei in Spandau, has already had to close again.
