The Mahler Quartet

The musicians of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra are considered outstanding chamber musicians – four of them form the Mahler Quartet. The young members of this renowned ensemble have put together an exciting programme for their concert, centred on Johannes Brahms' String Quartet in A minor, Op. 51 No. 2.

Brahms' Second String Quartet is considered the lyrical counterpart to his dramatic First Quartet. After years of struggle, he created a work of great formal density and inner passion, in which each motif is artfully developed.

The Mahler Quartet lends this music new radiance with its fresh interpretation and tonal sensitivity.
