World Music from Berlin
Zhetva plays traditional songs from Eastern Europe in her own arrangements. Russian melancholy meets Balkan grooves, Hungarian czardas and more.
Polka and reggae rhythms from guitar, bass and drums are interspersed with melodic lines from vocals, clarinet and violin, some of them soulfully tender, others powerful. The result is a wild mixture of folk, rock, polka and classical music, good for listening and for extensive dancing.
- Clarinet and voice: Susanne Pudig
- Guitar: Stephan Langer
- Bass: Till Repp
- Percussion: Alexander Doll
The band Zhetva got together in autumn 2005 and since then they can be heard regularly in various clubs and pubs, at street festivals and parties.
The Café Lyrik in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg offers live music in an intimate, cosy atmosphere four days a week. The café is only open for the four selected concerts in the areas of chanson, klezmer, tango and jazz from Wednesday to Saturday from 7 pm.
