Joshua Rupley - Between Worlds

The aim of
"Zeitmusik Britz" is to present and communicate contemporary music in
the context of tradition. Under the direction of C. René Hirschfeld, the
concerts will always make reference to classical music and music history. In
this way, a musical experience is created that honours both the innovations of
the present and the rich heritage of the past.

The third concert in the series will be performed by American pianist Joshua Rupley. On this evening, he will juxtapose a solitaire of classical-romantic piano literature with an equally extensive cycle from our present day.

The programme includes Ludwig van Beethoven's Piano Sonata in B flat major op. 106, "Hammerklavier Sonata" and C. René Hirschfeld's music for solo piano op. 139.
