Music between classical, Balkan folk, pop and rock
The violinist, bassist and guitarist Georgi Gogow, known from the legendary band City, performs in a new concert series with the pianist, singer and composer Thomas Putensen. Both artists come together to create a remarkable mix of classical, Balkan folk, pop and rock. These stylistic elements are fused into a play between romantic piano ballads, elegant guitar sounds and organ improvisations from baroque to jazz.
The songs sung by Thomas Putensen from Greifswald mix the sound of the north with Gogow’s Balkan musical accents. The two very different bards conjure up a special highlight of their performances with one or two evergreens by Manfred Krug. These were and are of crucial importance for Georgi Gogow's musical path and are gladly sung by Thomas Putensen with a lot of voice and temperament.
The song “Am Fenster”, which has become famous for its extraordinary violin solo, is also played with strong, flowing organ accompaniment (if possible with a large church organ) in a version that combines classical and rock. The arrangements and diverse orientations of the two artists promise an interesting evening and find the title “Wild Etudes - delicate songs” an almost understated description of their artistic ambitions.
The theater is open from 6:30 p.m.
