"Wiera" is a musical monodrama by actress Agnieszka Babicz from Tricity. It is based on the biography and songs from the repertoire of Wiera Gran. The great, already forgotten artist, Polish singer of Jewish origin, cabaret artist and film actress, who sang in the Warsaw Ghetto during the war and was persecuted after the war by accusations of collaboration with the Germans and became the victim of a smear campaign of the time.

She was the only member of her family to survive the occupation. For the rest of her life she resisted accusations that she had collaborated with the Gestapo in order to leave the ghetto. Despite her declarations and winning trials, she was ostracized by people who believed the accusations. She wanted very much to free herself from these calumnies - one of the reasons why she wrote the book "Relay of the Calumniators - Autobiography of a Singer" (1980), on which the text of the monodrama is based.

In Polish with German subtitles.
