Where Berlin began (in DGS)

What was the significance of Berlin's oldest preserved church building in the past? What do the remains of the foundations of the late Romanesque basilica tell us? What traces did the bombing leave behind? And why is the former church now a museum? You can find the answers to these questions and more here.


The exhibition Berlins Mitte reveals the former functions of the building and the development of the medieval city. In the exhibition you can see historical furnishings from Berlin churches, objects from the time when Berlin was founded and large-scale models of the city. Various themed stations focus on additional topics.
