by Thermoboy FK

Thermoboy FK let themselves be staged as objects of a female gaze in a cinematic, darkly melancholic stage narrative inspired by the "Virgin Suicides": Who are the four men* in their thirties who move into the house on the beach? They bathe, lie in the sun, drink cocktails, at night they sometimes sing something. They don't know that they are being watched by a group of women* who speculate how long the four will stay, a vacation or the rest of their lives? How tender, caring or aggro they are to each other; what is happening in their minds and bodies.

The Leipzig author Johanna Maxl writes the play from the perspective of curious observers*. As audience members, we sit in the middle of their narrative voices: their conversations about their own life plans, longings, work and strange natural events. And about how they see the Four: oscillating between human and animal, between appropriation and dysphoria with regard to the roles and "meat suits" they are born into.

Thermoboy FK play in the beach setting with historical and new images of a masculinity staged as desirable. A space for mutual pleasure in looking and fantasizing about others is created. And in it a lot of questions: What do they all want so close to the water - in times of growing drought? What are the four creating there, in front of their house, garden or burial mound? Who are the Werwölf:innen here?
