Klassische Philharmonie Bonn, Ervis Gega
This season the Christmas concert moves between the Baroque and Romantic eras. This project is traditionally led by Ervis Gega, the artistic director of the Bonn Classical Philharmonic, who also appears as a soloist. She invites the audience to celebrate the festive Christmas season musically together with her and the Bonn Classical Philharmonic.
The program includes masterpieces such as Manfredini's "Christmas Concerto" and Vivaldi's extremely virtuoso Violin Concerto nicknamed "Grosso Mogul", as well as other compositions by Baroque masters such as Marcello and Handel. In Johann Sebastian Bach's double concerto for oboe and violin, Ervis Gega is accompanied by the young oboist Eloi Huscenot, who has been studying with Francois Leleux in Munich since 2018 and is continuing his collaboration with the Bonn Classical Philharmonic as a Villa Musica scholarship holder.
The program is rounded off by works by Edward Elgar, Franz Schubert and Fritz Kreisler, which are among the audience's absolute favorites.
"Christmas Magic" with works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Georg Friedrich Handel, Francesco Manfredini and Alessandro Marcello, Edward Elgar, Jules Massenet and others.
