Family Sunday
At creative hands-on stations, you can explore in a playful way how sound and noises affect film. What does a homemade instrument sound like? Which noises suit a film scene? And how can sounds be made visible?
Build your own fantasy instrument in the Noise Factory and perform with it in front of the camera in the pop-up film studio. If the sound isn’t quite right, the Speech Bubble Lab is on hand to help and give the images a new voice. This is how, with digital film technology and plenty of creativity, funny film clips are created.
In the analogue film workshop ‘Scratch’, you can become scratch film experts and give free rein to your creativity on blank film, using colours and shapes.
Embark on a ‘Sound Walk’ – a listening exploration of the Kinemathek’s soundscape – and bring the building to life with sound.
Or catch the short film programme at the cinema. It features selected films that create exciting worlds of sound and imagery using loud or soft sounds. At selected times, the interactive programme ‘Farbspiel’ takes place with composer Eunice Martins. Here, you’ll set a short film to music using sounds you’ve created yourselves and discover how the impact of the images changes.
