Previously unseen photographic material from the workshop of the photographer and chronicler of his time, Uwe Steinberg, who died at an early age. At the center is a photographic sketch comprising pairs of images curated by Steinberg. Together with other individual images on the themes of work, everyday life in the GDR and children & young people, the material allows insights into the artist's understanding of composition and motif. The exhibition reveals new perspectives in the work of Uwe Steinberg and explores the question of what freedom image authors had in the GDR's culture industry.
