Giving Urban Contemporary Art a platform is the goal of the URBAN NATION Museum opened in Berlin-Schöneberg in 2017. It aims to bring artists together worldwide, promote young talents, open up a large audience to urban art and be an archive for this temporary art form. In a Wilhelminian style building, GRAFT architects created an exciting two-storey course by removing ceilings and installing bridges. Changing works of art will be on display on the modular façade.

For the Urban Nation Museum, ten high-profile curators have selected some 150 of the next generation of urban art artists, including Shepard Fairey, Icy and Sot, Miss Van, 1UP, Herakut, 1010, Evol and LOW BROS. All works of the show were created especially for the museum and were shown for the first time at the opening of the museum.

The URBAN NATION Museum shows a large exhibition every year.  Cooperation with the neighbourhood is important to the URBAN NATION network, which belongs to the non-profit foundation Berliner Leben: there are regular workshops for young people from the north of Schöneberg. Also around the museum, on the facades of Bülowstraße, famous urban art greats have left behind sprayed and glued murals.

The show presents the scene in its entirety - it is a cross-section of different representatives, genres and techniques. The opening show consists of different areas: The exhibition in the house alone and 30 artists designed facade paintings in the museum environment as well as installations in public space and sculptures in the museum courtyard comprise around 120 works.
