It sounds strange and fascinating at the same time: a ceramist and a knot artist at work on stage - and in the background a magical dance that symbolizes their work.
“Thinking Hands: Dance of Earth and Thread” was produced by the National Intangible Heritage Center (NIHC) in 2021 and premiered on November 19. It is a work inspired by Richard Sennett's book The Craftsman, a masterpiece of Western cultural history. The Berlin performance of "Thinking Hands" is a homage to the 140th anniversary of the friendly relations between the two countries since 1882. It is an expression of the hope that these relations will continue to deepen.
