Reading with Tania Arcimovich, Karima Shabrang, and Fariba Vafi
Three female authors in exile present texts that have emerged from a literary exploration of Schönhausen Palace and its history during the Nazi era. Drawing on their own experiences of exile and political pressure, they offer poignant, personal perspectives on history and artistic freedom.

The authors Tania Arcimovich (Belarus), Karima Shabrang (Afghanistan) and Fariba Vafi (Iran) will read their texts in their respective original languages. The actress Melika Foroutan will then recite the German translations.
The reading will be accompanied by music from Basilius Alawad.
Following the reading, all guests are warmly invited to a reception.
The event is inspired by the formats of the ‘Weiter Schreiben’ interventions, which bring contemporary literature from authoritarian countries and literary voices in exile into dialogue with places, history and memory."
