As part of Berlin Science Week
At ‘Knowledge Between Books’, you’ll meet researchers and can talk to them about topics that matter to you: right there in your local library, in the heart of your neighbourhood.
From 1 to 10 November 2026, ‘Wissen zwischen Büchern’ invites you to Berlin’s public libraries as part of Berlin Science Week. The aim: to make research understandable and accessible, and above all to create space for exchange. Here you can ask questions, contribute your thoughts, join in discussions and get to know scientists in person.
Fourteen programme partners from Berlin’s scientific community are organising more than 50 free events. The programme ranges from discussions and talks to workshops, performances and exhibitions, as well as quizzes and hands-on activities. Whether it’s a quiz on the solar system, a workshop on the future of artificial intelligence or a discussion about age-friendly cities – there’s something here to suit a wide range of interests.
A total of 35 libraries across ten Berlin districts are taking part: Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, Reinickendorf, Spandau, Treptow-Köpenick, Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, Tempelhof-Schöneberg, Pankow, Marzahn-Hellersdorf, Mitte and Lichtenberg. As well as the programme of events, themed bookshelves and a quiz on the shelves invite you to embark on your own journey of discovery.
