Radouan Mriziga

In “Magec / the Desert”, Radouan Mriziga explores the desert as a place of silence, humility, and connection – inspired by the north African Amazigh culture. Together with his team, he mixes music, text, dance, and rhythm into a layered performance.

In a world where human control and technology dominate perception, that which exists independently of us can provide an opportunity for reflection – sublime landscapes, for instance.

In his latest work, “Magec / the Desert”, Radouan Mriziga delves into the poetic and philosophical dimensions of the desert. He draws inspiration from the mythology of the Imazigh, the Indigenous people of North Africa, and perceives the landscape of the desert as one teaching both, humility and interconnectedness. As always, Mriziga works collaboratively, interweaving rhythm, music, text and movement with his team to create a multi-layered performance.
