Performances of Gustav Mahler's symphonies are at the heart of the symphonic programmes with which Sir Donald Runnicles presents himself to Berlin audiences. After the celebrated performances of the Second, Third and Fifth Symphonies, among others, it is now Mahler's turn to sing his farewell to the great symphonic form with the Ninth.
