text-sound-movement

Since 2020, p o e s i . f y s i k . has been inviting performing artist friends for unpredictable stage events that they call SUBMUSIC. The Submusic series focuses on a seemingly natural collage of text, action/movement, installation and electroacoustic sound art.

For SUBMUSIC #10, p o e s i . f y s i k . has invited the artists Alexandra Macia (Spain), Samin Son (South Korea) and Håkan Jonsson (Sweden).

This time, p o e s i . f y s i k . is represented exclusively by Uwe Moellhusen.

He is a visual, sound, action and performance artist, composer and also organizer of exhibitions, events and performance festivals. His origins lie in destruction art and art sabotage.

He is currently working on the interrelationship between cognition, action and sound, or physical action as a compositional impulse for a sound event. He performs exclusively with objects found on the street that have been repurposed and calls it "poor music". Whatever falls into his hands becomes material, raw material, free from its original purpose.

Ignoring the techniques of conventional playing styles and musical disciplines, he finds and invents a music without boundaries. It is an escape from the prison of repetition into the vastness of the irregular and the dirt. The impulse that comes from the unexpected is his stimulus.
Additional information
Alexandra Maciá is a Spanish artist based in Berlin and known for audiovisual works that challenge conventions. She explores the interaction between sound, image and space, questioning media manipulation and the fragility of multimedia. Her experimental approach mixes analogue and digital techniques and creates psycho-audiovisual landscapes inspired by DIY principles. Using electromagnetic frequencies, field recordings, modular synthesizers, vintage video processors and modified hardware, she creates immersive soundscapes in live performances, audiovisual pieces and installations.

Samin Son from Seoul (Korea), has lived in Berlin for many years. He is a poet, sound poet, dancer, singer, painter, musician and DJ. In his performance he combines physical movement ("Butoh on speed"), poetry, singing and extreme vocal sounds in a completely natural way. His performance never seems artificial or constructed. It is direct action, direct, real expression of psyche and existence... an organic flow of oscillating intensities in which Asian tradition and Western neo-avant-garde become one.

Håkan Jonsson is an electroacoustic tinkerer and field recorder who often performs performance rituals with Annsofie Jonsson as Hugsten.
