STEGREIF - THE IMPROVISING SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

Over the course of an afternoon and evening, three stations in the Gleisdreieckpark are transformed into a unique open-air stage: the sun deck (5:30 p.m.), Kreuzchenplatz (7 p.m.) and the central square/dance area (8 p.m.) are each filled with thirty minutes of music ) with life. Between the concerts, spontaneous musicians and the audience embark on new musical paths together.

Works by important female composers of the past can be heard at the three stations, namely Wilhelmine von Bayreuth (1709-1785), Emilie Mayer (1812-1883) and Clara Schumann (1819-1896). These valuable pieces are rearranged by the creative impromptu composers and linked with modern rhythms and genres. This fusion creates unique and exciting worlds of sound.

The musical stations cover different musical eras, including baroque, classical and romantic. The joint hike from concert to concert enables the listeners to re-experience and question music history from a female perspective.

The Stereif.Fest invites people from all over Berlin and the surrounding area to this special place directly between the districts of Tiergarten, Kreuzberg and Schöneberg. It promises an inspiring and culturally enriching experience where music and nature blend in harmony.
