VIVALDI, BACH, ROMITELLI

The concertos of Antonio Vivaldi form a cornerstone of the flute repertoire. Stefan Temmingh, one of the world’s leading recorder virtuosos, performs them as “miniature operas”—taking these works’ diverse character and often programmatic titles such as “La tempesta di mare” or “La notte” as the starting point for his lively and colorful interpretations. Together with the Capricornus Consort Basel he explores musical connections between Vivaldi and Bach, as well as contemporary compositions by Markus Zahnhausen and Fausto Romitelli.
