Mendelssohn, Dvořák, Šerkšnytė

Lithuanian conductor Giedrė Šlekytė, who made her Pierre Boulez Saal debut in April 2023 leading the Boulez Ensemble, takes the podium for the first of the Staatskapelle Berlin’s two programs this season.

In addition to Dvořák’s Violin Concerto, with concertmaster Jiyoon Lee as the soloist, and Mendelssohn’s “Scottish” Symphony, the orchestra performs de profundis, one of the most acclaimed works by Šlekytė’s compatriot, composer Raminta Šerkšnytė. In the morning, the musicians present excerpts from their program in a workshop concert for school classes.

Presented by the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in collaboration with the Pierre Boulez Saal. Tickets are available exclusively from the Staatsoper Unter den Linden.
