A dialogic exploration of the National Socialist site history

Tempelhof Airport is one of the most important surviving Nazi buildings. With its monumental architecture, it was intended to embody the Third Reich's claim to power and eternity – however, it was only completed after 1945 by the American occupying forces. Later, it became a symbol of Western freedom: first during the Berlin Airlift, then as an international hub for West Berlin.

The tour focuses on the early, partially obscured layers of history: Tempelhof's role as an instrument of power for the Nazi "Volksgemeinschaft," its function in the aerial warfare, forced labor in armaments production, and its significance as a central site of the so-called "Early Terror."
