a festival of fantasy

In Alondra de la Parra's celebrated multimedia concert production Silence of Sound, the conductor, the Babelsberg Film Orchestra and the clown Gabriela Muñoz create a total work of art made up of music, acting and video elements.

After the resounding success of the first tour in Mexico, Silence of Sound can now be experienced in Germany for the first time on September 13, 2023 in Berlin's Admiralspalast.

A sea of delicate lights moves in steady waves, in perfect harmony with the music. Plankton particles glisten under the water; red-veiled fish and other sea creatures swarm by, guided by a mute protagonist: like in a luminous ballet, the clown steers the living streams here and there. The orchestra plays Debussy's La Mer and it quickly becomes clear: this isn't just a mere soundtrack, here image and sound go hand in hand, merging into one big whole.

Silence of Sound is a multi-sensory feast of the imagination. The scenic-symphonic stage project, which the conductor Alondra de la Parra developed together with the clown performer Gabriela Muñoz and which she directed herself, was a resounding success in de la Parra's home country of Mexico - almost 15,000 spectators attended the Autumn 2022 performances in four cities.
