The thematic tour on the construction of the Berlin Wall explores the unique conditions of artistic expression in East Germany and traces the effects of the building of the Wall in 1961 on the life and work of Wolf Biermann. During these years of forced consolidation, Biermann was also banned from performing and forced to lose his citizenship in 1976.
