With “Schubladen auf!”, the Theater an der Parkaue is starting a new series of events in the 2023/2024 season, in which it would like to (re)discover special or groundbreaking children's and youth theater pieces from recent years with young audiences.
In addition to a reading with the ensemble, there is also the opportunity to exchange ideas about the authors' creative processes and thoughts - an evening full of inspiration for everyone who is enthusiastic about writing for a young audience.
Together with the playwrights network, the Theater an der Parkaue opens its doors and invites playwrights with their texts. Each episode of the series is moderated by a playwright from the network and is dedicated to an important contemporary topic.
In the third edition of the series, Maria Milisavljević brings Sarah Kilter and her piece “Ivory”. The piece creates a parallel world with elves, fairies, elf fairies and dwarf giants and cleverly interweaves themes of belonging and equal opportunities with environmental pollution and political impotence. People talk about the explosive power it has when social categories are rethought and the possibility of a better world seemingly arises quite casually.
