The specially developed format by the Hexenberg Ensemble brings to light how closely the crude charm of these fairy tales, their disconcerting comedy and the unwieldy shudder are connected with everyone's very own fears and hopes.

Snow White

Snow-white, blood-red and black as the soul of the step-queen... Falsehood, ill-will, vanity and beautiful murders, a tender child in the snow with seven dubious dwarfs: a plump classic, but also spares us nothing. Fantastic as hardly ever, in this fairy tale chaotic poetry, grotesque absurdity and quirky monstrosity pushes into the twilight with untamed wildness and wants to make itself believable to us. Do not oversleep the most beautiful nightmare ever dreamed!

Hare and Hedgehog

The classic par excellence, our Urgrimm. This is how the brothers Jacob and Wilhelm taught us to make their tall tales come true in a playful way: by means of two actors, a stage the size of a beer mat and great attention to literal detail. The original text is as sacred as the Bible and taken seriously as a Shakespearean ham. What is written there is a strict instruction for action, even and especially when the hare races the hedgehog seventy-three rounds. Who plays the hedgehog woman? And how, pray tell, does one credibly fall for the same cheap trick 73 times? Well, quite simply: with the help of the audience and with the greatest pleasure, yes, we promise: Grimm free on the fairy tale mountain!
