silent green & Berlin Atonal presents:

Ryoji Ikeda - The grounding of aesthetic production in the emergent formal
properties of fundamental mathematical elements has been a major theme
in the development of contemporary art.

In this tradition Japanese artist Ryoji Ikeda stands out as the preeminent exponent. Berlin Atonal, in collaboration with silent green, is proud to host the German iteration of Ikeda’s latest major audiovisual project ultratronics (live set).

The new performance is based on the universalist principles laid out in Ikeda’s last recorded work ultratronics which was his first release in over a decade when it came out in 2022 and contained material designed between 1989 and 1999, along with more recent compositions developed between 2013 and 2022.

ultratronics (live set) is the culmination of Ikeda’s career long obsession with data-driven research and the ways in which the perceiving subject experiences sonic and visual phenomena, particularly when they are driven to their extremes.

His audiovisual shows are operations of a particular mathematico-symbolic structure which exist as temporal artifices constructed out of pure tones, sine waves, white noise and light.

Warning: this show will contain loud-noises and strobing light effects and is not recommended for people that may be sensitive to these phenomena.
