Fridays for Future, Extinction Rebellion, The Last Generation – the new climate movements have the future, or rather the fear that there could be no more, right in their name. No question, it's about fundamental things, about existential things. The fear of the end of the world as we know it is real. There is also the possibility that this will happen if we don't change something soon.
This edition of the RundfunkchorLounge deals with the apocalypse, this millennia-old topos of the end of the world and the stories that have been told about it over the centuries and that have been set to music more than once. However, this topic is viewed through the lens of a present that threatens to lose the future if something doesn't happen soon.
As always, selected guests will come to visit and discuss the topic of the evening. The singers of the Rundfunkchor Berlin will take care of the music under the direction of Gijs Leenaars, as will DJ Malfatti. And as always, the fantastic presenter Boussa Thiam will host the evening. May there be a tomorrow. And also the day after tomorrow.
