Fernando Galán, Ana Maria Galan, Lorena Caballero (dance)
The maestros jerezanos delight with magic and El duende: ¡Mysterious spirit and demon of flamenco!
FLAMENCO PURO ARTE DE JEREZ is part of the proyecto La tierra mía, sus voces y ecos. A tribute to the pure singing forms of early flamenco art, which gave rise to a multitude of variations and styles in flamenco (palos) and continue to shape it to this day.
It is a confession by de la Ana to his Andalusian roots, to pay homage to the heritage that made today's high level of virtuosity in singing (cante), guitar playing (toque) and dancing (baile) possible.
Fernando Galán's and Lorena Caballero's dance delights with inimitable suppleness and athletic presence, powerful. Ana Maria Galan's dance is perfect elegance, pure magic. Paired with Rubin de la Anas' extraordinarily artistic guitar playing, performed with dizzying brilliance, and the unmistakable timbre of his singing voice, the four artists give their audience a very intimate access to authentic flamenco art.
All four artists are among those rare musicians and dancers who can represent the specific artistic character of flamenco in its entirety and complexity. Deeply rooted in tradition and modern at the same time, their remarkable art of interpretation convinces with great harmonies. Their virtuosity touches the soul and makes flamenco a physical experience.
Like the guitar and passionate singing, the cajón has been part of flamenco since the 1970s. Its timbres enrich the sound worlds of traditional flamenco to this day. It seems to be made for Tom Auffarth, de la Anas' percussionist. Under his hands it sounds like a snare or bass drum.
With Flamenco puro de Jerez, the quintet portrays an impressive picture of the centuries-old tradition of flamenco art: ¡FLAMENCO PURO ARTE!
