VERONIKA CHEREDNYCHENKO, born and raised in Ukraine, creates impressive works of art that express her deep connection to cultural memory, identity and nature.
Her works operate at the interface of personal and collective history and combine natural and industrial materials to make the resilience and transformability of identity visible.
Influenced by her experiences with migration, transformation and the reconstruction of fragmented memories in a post-Soviet landscape, Cherednychenko's art reflects the challenges and opportunities of these dynamics. In her Berlin solo exhibition, she deals with the themes of renewal and metamorphosis in nature.
Under the title Re:generation, the exhibition invites you to discover the ability of beauty to survive in the midst of upheaval. It shows that resurrection embodies both resilience and hope.
In the exhibition ‘Re:generation’, Ukrainian artist Veronika Cherednychenko explores the space between personal identity and collective memory. In doing so, she scrutinises the changing relationship between humanity and its environment and history. Cherednychenko's work is both a critique and a meditation on the tension between constructed spaces and natural landscapes, the ruthlessness of modernity and the organic resilience of the natural world.
In her artistic practice, Cherednychenko invokes historical symbols and cultural myths. She invites viewers to question their personal place within the continuum of time, cultural heritage and transformation.
‘Re:generation’ reflects on post-Soviet identity and ecological change. The exhibition resists the commercialisation of memories and instead offers art as a means of connection and introspection.
