KW, a hike
In the early 1990s, the KW Institute for Contemporary Art was founded in a former margarine factory. Its history is inextricably linked to that of its neighbourhood, the surrounding streets and its buildings.

In order to understand the historical connections of KW, the tour embarks on a hike to boarded-up buildings, underground garages, distant domes over burial chambers, communist clubhouses and the courtyard of a collector who lives in a former nationalized factory. The view of a distant skyscraper overshadowing the relics of the Soviet era on Alexanderplatz marks the end of the tour of KW's neighboring streets.
