Cassy's premiere reading
Growing up can be so difficult - Cassy, a young author from Berlin, knows that. She has been writing ever since she could write. What started with funny stories for German lessons developed over time into a kind of coping strategy for her.

Her poems, short stories and essays tell of a young woman who not only grows up, but also looks for her place in the world. Cassy has documented this long-term process in her first book, "The Poetry of Growing Up".
A book that deals primarily with the dark side of puberty and always tries to make something beautiful out of difficult experiences. Cassy not only brings structure to her own thoughts, but also wants to show other young people that they are not alone with their feelings. The bitter-sweet content of her work invites reflection.
Cassy has been a member of the Marzahn writing workshop in the Mark Twain Library for almost ten years.
