music theater by Oblivia
Everyone is looking for it, everyone longs for it and entire societies are built on it: together with two musicians, the Finnish cult group Oblivia sets out to find and celebrate "Pleasure".
In this music theater evening they humorously explore the living pleasure principle of man between rave and beauty cult, eternal promise of growth and carpe diem.
In catchy songs between musical and punk rock, body-made sounds and the (electro) sounds of the award-winning composer Yiran Zhao, Oblivia approaches the different aspects of everything that can make "Pleasure" private and political: And so the songs meander between everyday and universal themes, tell about leisure time stress and self-care trends, as well as about the big questions about the meaning of our existence. Because in the end there is only a big nothing - right?
The company, which is successful throughout Germany and internationally, can finally be seen live in Berlin again after seven years, for the first time supported by the Finnish sound performer Juha Valkeapää and the soprano Gabriela Lesch and Thilo Ruck on guitar.
