Phillip Boa and the Voodooclub are among the most renowned German bands. Phillip Boa, songwriter, composer, singer, guitarist and head of the band, gained international recognition with his very own music influenced by British post-punk, indie/alternative rock and avant-garde.
Boa is also considered the "inventor" of the DIY principle (Do it yourself) in Germany, as he was the first artist to manage everything on his own in the early years. To date, Phillip Boa and the Voodooclub are the German band with the most album and single of the week awards in the British music press.
