PANDA’s 15th anniversary: Day 1

The “P” in PANDA stands for Poetry. Everything started with poetry – the very first event at PANDA in 2009 was a poetry concert. This was followed by poetry slams and poetry clashes, open mics, very quiet and very loud performances… So, it’s only fitting that the first evening of our anniversary celebration is dedicated to poetry.

A lot has changed in 15 years. We, too, have changed. Some of PANDA’s friends are no longer with us. Russia has attacked Ukraine, and there is war going on. But “in a mysterious way, poetry helps us find the strength to resist evil” (Alexander Delphinov, Berlin spoken-word master and one of PANDA founders).

Our performances and poetry readings transcend the boundaries of languages and countries, making PANDA platforma an important spot on Berlin’s literary map. To celebrate this poetic diversity, we’ve prepared something unique for our anniversary together with our friends, internationally renowned authors from all over the world. Fourteen poets and performers will read, dance, shout, and sing their texts under the artistic direction and moderation of Alexander Delphinov. Classical poetry, slam poetry, prose, enhanced by dance, music, visual art, and performances, sometimes even inspired by AI and technology.

A surprise – even for us! – will be the performance of songs jointly composed by PANDA’s two original founders, Petr Goriev and Alexander Delphinov.
