Max loves fairy tales. His grandfather tells him the best stories every evening - secretly, so that his mother doesn't find out. She thinks they are useless fantasy stories. When a strange chubby fairy kidnaps Max, reality and the world of fairy tales get mixed up.

But even greater disaster is brewing: Ludmilla Zwickzwack, a witch notorious for her diabolical potions, needs the blood of a sad child for her latest potion.
