Between anatomy, individuality and dynamics

Sharpen your view of the human body! At Haus Bastian – Center for Cultural Education and the Altes Museum, you have the opportunity to explore bodies and identities in all their diversity and uniqueness through drawing and painting.

Guided by the artist Ellen Louise Weise, you will explore various techniques and forms of expression. Changing nude models and encounters with the sculptures in the Altes Museum open up new perspectives.

In the artistic process of experiencing and depicting stroke by stroke, idealized body norms can be broken and space for new ideas can emerge.

Materials such as clipboards, easels, paper, acrylic paints, brushes, and drawing utensils are provided.

Feel free to bring a sketchbook or favorite materials.

Four sessions will take place at Haus Bastian and two at the Altes Museum. No previous experience is required.

Since 2009, she has been teaching life drawing courses in her studio and at various art venues. The focus of her life drawing work is not only on capturing anatomical proportions, but above all on recognizing the unique personality of each model.
