The Second World War in Europe ended with the signing of the surrender declaration in the Karlshorst Fortress Pioneer School on May 8, 1945 in the Lichtenberg district by representatives of the German Wehrmacht. But even in the decisive moments there was always a before and an after alongside the now.
The tour through Lichtenberg from the town hall to Rummelsburg Lake not only covers places in Lichtenberg where historical changes took place in connection with the historical new beginning. Some of these places are still highly emotional to the present and will continue to play an important role in public discourse in the future.
