Long day of urban nature

On this tour, you can see the city from a different perspective and discover typical Berlin plants.

Whether on the side of the road, in parks and gardens, or on the windowsill – if you look closely, you'll find not only colorful flowers, but also often overlooked delicate plants and a variety of creepy crawlies.

On a walk through the Kollwitzkiez and Winsviertel districts in Prenzlauer Berg, participants will explore what grows along the side of the road or in public green spaces and the importance of the plants for insects and other animals.

You'll also receive tips on creating your own small, natural biotopes, whether on your balcony or in your garden.

The tour starts at Georgen-Parochial-Friedhof I.

On a deconsecrated cemetery site, the GRÜNE LIGA Berlin operates the Green Learning Center Cemetery with a permanent exhibition, a small community garden, and plenty of wild nature to explore and relax in.

At the end of the tour, the Museum Pankow on Prenzlauer Allee, participants are invited to view the exhibition about Ralf the Raven, Berlin's last environmental newspaper, which has been published by the GRÜNE LIGA for 35 years.
